July Director’s Message

Dear Members,

This sure is a busy time of year for us at the Center! We’re gearing up for projects that we’ve been anticipating for some time. I have the pleasure of telling you that we’ve received our final funding for the Roof Project by the award of our $6000 grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust. They’ve truly blessed us with this award and together with our community support, much of which came from you directly, we’re going to see a new roof on the building! We also received news recently that we were awarded a $1,250 grant from Meals on Wheels, America for our Nutrition program! We’re grateful for the generosity of these foundations but I also want to take this time to thank you. It is through your encouragement, your generosity, and your support that these things come to fruition. Foundations are motivated to give when a project has community support and you’ve exemplified this through your giving spirit and your love of this Center. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of something so beautiful, we truly are the lucky ones. We will begin the roof project shortly but please be patient with us as we obtain permits and materials – This is my first job project managing something this large and while I’m excited and honored to be doing so, I will move cautiously so that all is done correctly. I assure you I’m not the most patient person, so this will be a growth opportunity for us all!
