June 2017 Director’s Message
Dear Members,
On behalf of all of us at the Center, we would like to wish all of those Fathers out there a Happy Father’s Day! You’ll often hear us thanking our folks for the fatherly wisdom they provide, and we are truly grateful for each of you. May your Father’s Day be a great one!
The sun is beaming into my office as I type this, and I hope it’s a sample of what June will bring! As the weather heats up, I want to remind everyone that the Center serves as a “Cooling Center” for those that need a break from the heat or a place to come get hydrated. We are here Monday—Friday, from 9am to 4pm, and encourage you to escape from the heat if needed.
Our bathroom remodel is going great! The men’s bathroom and the handicapped restroom are completed, and the women’s is nearly done. Lastly, we’ll be completing the hallway restroom at the north side of the building. It’s been a pleasure to have Dwayne Sorenson Construction here working on this project. Dwayne has gone above and beyond helping with other things that have come up in the building, and he even killed a spider for Brittney! That’s a dedicated worker! We are so very grateful for the opportunity to be able to see this project come to fruition and it’s thanks to the generous donation of the Ford Family Foundation, and thanks to donors who have come forward in support of this project. To each party, we thank you.
Volunteers! Please save the date of July 26th! We’re celebrating you at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luau!
See you at the Center,
Cecily Rose
