March 2017 Director’s Message

You did it again! We keep setting records with our annual auction fundraiser! This year we raised $11,790 for the Center, and that’s over $2,750 more than last year’s record breaking event! I can’t express enough thanks and gratitude to all who helped make this event the best one yet. From the donors, to the volunteers, to the participants and bidders, my heart overflows with thanks for your efforts and generosity. I want to personally thank my amazing team of staff as well. There’s many long days that lead up to this event, hours behind the scenes, unnoticed, unaccounted for, and it is such an honor and privilege to work with this amazing group! If you in any way assisted with this great event, know that our hearts are soaring because of you!
As we begin to wind down from the excitement of February, we are gearing up for our March for Meals campaign! This month long campaign exists most importantly to bring awareness about the very serious issue of senior hunger. We partner with Meals on Wheels America for this great cause, and each year it bring success in the areas of fundraising, grant awards, awareness, and education to our community. We are looking forward to a March for Meals Breakfast on March 15th, sponsored by the Molalla Manor. In addition to the breakfast, we’ll be anticipating the fun events as well as the annual appearance of “celebrity” volunteers that will grace the Center. As we March for Meals, we’ll be getting support from local businesses as they assist us in raising monetary donations and aid us in helping with this great cause.
As always, don’t forget to wear that green on St. Patty’s Day! We’ll be celebrating our Irish roots in fun ways with prizes and a Cake March (walk)!
