November 2019 Director’s Message
Thanksgiving is near and we’re most thankful for YOU! Thank you to each member, volunteer, donor, sponsor, and person who in any way supports this Center. We are so grateful for the many ways you make us better. As we ease into November we are thankful for a full schedule of activities and fundraisers. Join us this month on Veterans Day as we honor our Veterans with a Pizza Party. November 16th we will host our annual Holiday Bazaar which always includes a fun day of food and shopping for the entire community. We’re looking forward to some exciting and unique outings that are sure to please and we’re selling Willamette Valley Pie Co. Pies this month for an additional fundraiser! Our Thanksgiving meal will take place on Wednesday, November 27th and we hope you can join us!
You may have heard through the grapevine that I’ve accepted the interim Director position of the Estacada Senior Center. This is true, but let me first say, I’m in no way, shape or form leaving Molalla’s Center. You’ll remember that just seven years ago our own Center here was in Crisis. Our neighboring Center in Estacada is going through similar things currently and I have a heart and willingness to help. Please be assured that Estacada is paying for all time spent at their Center and my time away from Molalla will be made up on the weekends and after hours to best steward the finances and needs here in Molalla. I can promise you that I wouldn’t have said yes to this if I thought it would in any way negatively affect our Center. The board in Estacada is grateful for the help that Julie and I can provide in mentoring their new team as well as their outreach and finance committees. We are called to love our neighbors and I’m honored to have the opportunity to do so. If you have any questions about this interim position of mine, please feel free to ask. We want to assure you that all parties including the County, Foothills, MAS inc, and the team here is incredibly supportive of this. While we have a favorite Center, we know that they are all important and so we collectively said YES!
Grateful for you,
Cecily
Center Director
