September Director’s Message

Dear Members,

August has completely flown by and I find myself triple checking my calendar, thinking there’s just no possible way September is upon us! I can hardly believe it went so fast, but as most of you know, last month was a busy one for me. I found myself in three different time zones and five different states in a matter of a few weeks! As I reflect back on the amazing time away, I realize that I was so incredibly excited to come home. Coming home to me meaning many things; sleeping in my own bed, seeing our dogs, eating a healthy diet again, and getting back into a routine. Something was so incredibly apparent to me after taking my first real, hop-on-a-plane vacation since being your Director: this Center, and all of you, are also that wonderful feeling of home to me. It’s such a blessing to go, but my heart smiles more upon my return. I was completely at peace leaving the Center as I knew the team of staff I was leaving it with was more than equipped and qualified to do a fabulous job. I also knew that our wonderful volunteers would be here to diligently take on the tasks that we so heavily rely on them for. To say I’m grateful for all that stepped up in my absence to take on extra hours or responsibilities would be an understatement. To our Team: Jodi, Brittney, Dennis, Cathy, Kim, Vern and Duane, thank you a million times over for not only supporting me in this great way, but supporting one another as you do. This team exemplifies unity and I’m so glad they let me be a part of it! Now the team is coming together to perform a great month of fundraising, including our annual Entertainment Book sales, and our great Walk-A-Thon!
