April Director’s Message
Dear Members,
Three years have come and gone since the day I had the honor of being hired as your Director of the Molalla Adult Community Center. As I reflect back on these three years, all I can do is smile. I’m so grateful, still, that I have this amazing opportunity to be apart of the story that is based on unity, transformation, relationships, provision, and beauty.
I look back on the three years and sometimes wonder how we’ve been able to tackle things in that short amount of time like repairing overwhelming amounts of dry-rot, painting the building, a completed roof project, growth of membership, addition of programs, cooking a percentage of meals on-site, and more. All of this is truly a reflection of people sharing a passion for helping others whom come together for the good of our community. There is something amazing about our small-town center, our influence and impact are larger at this point than I could ever imagine.
But as we’ve grown, it’s only brought to me an awareness of how many people are still in need of our services. Recently at a staff meeting we discussed this very topic, and while we need to grow at a rate that we can sustain, we are in fact a micro-center with a mega-vision. We have a vision of reaching all seniors and people with disabilities throughout our community in need. We vision the ability to give them not only the resources and means to meet their basic needs, but strive to provide them with the love and hope that gives them a better tomorrow.
As I look back on these three years, I thank you for the way that you have supported our vision of helping those in need. I thank you for your membership, for your donations, for your volunteerism, and for your support. Our mega vision takes a mega team and I’m so grateful that you’re a part of it.
Happy Anniversary Molalla Adult Community Center!
