February Director’s Message
Hello Members!
I’m looking forward to a fun-filled February! We’re gearing up for our largest fundraiser of the year, the Spaghetti Feed and Auction. There is a great night planned this year with a few added twists to last years event. This year, in addition to the silent auction, we will have Auctioneer, Grant Sharp, here to provide us with an entertaining live auction portion of the evening! We have the Tim Friesen Band coming to entertain and we’re planning out the menu for a delicious spaghetti dinner. This year the event falls directly on Valentine’s Day so we’re calling it a “Sweetheart’s” Celebration. It’s yet another reason for us to celebrate the goodness that takes place here always.
Many of you may have heard that the Adult Center is the hosting venue of an upcoming Grant Writing Work Shop. This is true and exciting. Rural Development Initiatives is hosting this workshop and as your director I’m looking forward to attending and growing my knowledge and abilities in this area. RDI had requested to rent the building over a year ago! At this time we had not been holding our Fundraiser Breakfasts. Because I felt it was important to honor our agreement and because this is something that will benefit the future of Molalla and the future of our Center it was decided that for February and March we would NOT have the breakfasts. I know how much they are enjoyed and supported, so this was a very hard decision to make. But I hope you’ll stand behind it, in knowing there was much thought and consideration that went into it. I know I’m already looking forward to them coming back in April as we always have so much fun with them. I appreciate your understanding and your trust in me as we make decisions for what’s best for our community, our Center, and You!
Thanks and blessings, Cecily Rose
