August Director’s Message
Dear Members,
What a beautiful and hot summer we’ve been having. I hope you’re staying cool and hydrated. We’re headed to the County Fair this month in Canby. I’ve spent so many summers at the Fair, in fact many of my childhood memories are filled with those of the fair. I was in horse 4-H growing up and had many friends showing in FFA. If I wasn’t in the show pen you could find me watching my older sister, Emily, rake in the ribbons! What a joyous time for all. I can still remember my first time on the Ferris Wheel, trying to win at my favorite carnival game (the horse race), the hand-dipped corn dogs and ice cream from the Dairy Wives barn. I’m grateful that the Clackamas County Fair honors Seniors and we’re able to make this a memorable trip each year! I hope you can join in on the fun that’s to be had!
In addition, I’m looking forward to our 1st benefit concert on the Center Lawn. Gerle Haggard, a Merle Haggard cover band made of all girls, and Ryan Oetken, a Nashville Musician, will be here to entertain! These fantastic musicians are donating their time and talents in hopes to raise funds for the Center and we’re incredibly grateful they want to do so. We will have a VIP area for Seniors and all others are welcome to bring low lawn chairs and blankets. While the concert is free we will be charging for food and drinks and will also be taking in donations for the Center. One thing we’re not short of is people wanting to help, people passionate about our recipients, and wanting to help raise the funds needed to operate the Center. This makes my heart
smile! Come see us this summer!
Thanks and blessings from the Center,
Cecily Rose
